I question myself sometimes
As I grow in the desire to move from stage to stage with the gospel on my lips
What is my true motive
What aids my drive to grow my craft in order to project a perfect image on stage
Is it me or is it Him, is it the message I carry on my lips
Do I want to project myself perfect in the eyes of the audience to achieve stardom
Or do I actually aim to share the message of the gospel on multiple stages
I’m just asking
With just a look at those who have before me mounted many stages, I realize some have spread a message
While some just have achieved stardom
What then is the goal
I believe I was gifted by God
If I was gifted by God then this gift should be used to glorify God, not me
Not to project my display of perfect articulation
For the gift was never meant for the gifted but for the Giver to be projected on the walls of our bodies
I imagine this gift of poetry is to say in a way entertaining, persuasive and informative the message of the gospel
When Paul wrote those books in the Bible, was it himself he displayed or was it God
What about Moses and the prophets, were their acts about themselves or about God
When Peter first spoke to the multitude, it was not to introduce himself nor advertise his craft
But to help them understand the manifestation of the scriptures
Now, among all these the question pops up again
What is the purpose of my gift
When Jesus faced a Jewish mob ready to kill Him
He answered them that it was only that which He see the Father do that He does
And He said that He seeks not His own will but the will of the Father who sent Him
With this gift of mine and with my quest to be like Christ, I don’t know if I can say the same thing as He did
If Jesus refused to seek His own glory, I pray that whenever I climb a stage
My presence fades from the scene and the actual message of the day be put on display
As more and more my desire to jump from one stage to another stage with the gospel on my lips increases
I pray I never forget to play the background and allow God to take the lead
